Mount Fuji. Fuji Sama, Fuji Yama, Fugaku - However you say it - It's gonna blow!

Mount Fuji is set to blow - the only question is : When?

Mount Fuji. Fuji Sama, Fuji Yama, Fugaku - However you say it - It's gonna blow. The last time the volcano some 100 miles from Tokyo erupted in a dramatic fashion was 1707 friends, and prior to that, it erupted on average every 30 years. Over the last decades, scientists have said that the lack of sparrows, insects, and snow on Fuji indicate that something is happening. Over the last couple of weeks, scientists have said that the magma chamber underneath Fuji has been disturbed by the Great Touhoku Earthquake that hit Japan last year on 3/11/2011. Either way friends, this volcano is nothing compared to Sakura Jima in the south of Japan, which erupted again only this week, and the underlying great Aira Caldera, a supervolcano which, if it blows, will cause an extinction level event and cause darkness to befall the world for a decade or more, that is if you survive your lungs being turned to a sulfuric cement, much like the Cormac McCarthy novel and movie 'The Road'. I talk about how the earthquakes and even tsunamis can trigger off these volcanoes, and to save you some time here's a heads up for all my friends in Tokyo Town and around Japan and the world: You can watch/listen to the videos while you are digging your bunkers and stocking it with some fine whiskey, ginza buns and ramen noodles.

The Aira Caldera Supervolcano - And for English teachers in Japan on how to survive if it blows.
