otaku anime and manga in tokyo

the gaijin otakus in japan, who are anime and manga fans, or 'otaku' are much maligned contributors to the culture of tokyo and japan and who make the whole place a lot more interesting at a human level. there are few other places where people will assume the identify of a comic book or 'manga' character, complete with makeup, wigs, hair extensions, costumes, dummy swords and weapons and even plastic surgery - and then who take that out to the park on a sunday. in tokyo town will be featuring interviews and pictures with some of the otaku around tokyo town here linked on this page. if you are an otaku interested in being featured contact me through any of the ways listed at the right and i will feature you on the podcast
